We, the Ministers of Health and Heads of Delegation of the WHO African Region declare that:

NCDs prevention and control strategies, guidelines, policies, legislations, regulatory frameworks including the WHO FCTC, should be developed and implemented to protect individuals, families and communities from unhealthy diets; harmful use of alcohol; tobacco use and exposure to tobacco smoke; unsafe food; violence and injuries; advertising of unhealthy products; and infections responsible for certain types of cancers

BBC News: Tobacco firms challenge plain packaging law
May 22, 2015: Two of the world’s biggest tobacco companies have challenged the legality of the UK government’s plain packaging regulations.
British American Tobacco and Philip Morris filed legal objections at the High Court in London on Friday.
They claim that the new rules are illegal because they take away their trademark intellectual property.
