Ethiopia ratified the FCTC on 25 March 2014. Current tobacco use is 7.9% among youth aged 13-15 years and current tobacco smoking is 6.5% among male adults aged 15-59 years. Direct tobacco advertising is banned on national TV and radio, local magazines and newspapers, billboards and outdoors.
