Malawi: TCC Embarks On Tobacco Survey
January 17, 2018: The Tobacco Control Commission (TCC) has embarked on a survey that will determine estimated production of the green gold this year. In every first quarter of the year the TCC conducts the survey which aides them in coming up with crop estimates for a new season.

Revealed: Agreement Between the Foundation For A Smoke-Free World and Philip Morris International

On 13 September 2017, Philip Morris International (PMI) announced its support for the establishment of a new entity, the Foundation for a Smoke-Free World. PMI indicated that it expects to support the Foundation by contributing approximately USD 80 million annually over the next 12 years.

The foundation has made public an agreement dated 9 January 2018 stating full details of the engagement it has with Philip Morris International.

Philippine: British American Tobacco quits PH business
November 05, 2017: British American Tobacco (BAT), one of the world’s leading multinational companies, will close its Philippine operations by the end of December this year amid “difficult environment” and after the cigarette-firm’s failed attempt to buy into homegrown cigarette manufacturer Mighty Corporation.
