WHO Releases Report On Global Trends Of Tobacco Use
Afro region has more than 73 million current tobacco users.
On Thursday 19 December 2019, the World Health Organisation (WHO) launched the third edition of the Global Report on Trends in Prevalence of Tobacco Use 2000-2025. According to the report, the Afro Region has more than 73 million current tobacco users and 16 countries in the region have more than 1 million tobacco users. The report also notes that in terms of tobacco use, the Afro Region has a prevalence of 21% among men, 4% among women and around 13% overall.
