WHO REPORT ON THE GLOBAL TOBACCO EPIDEMIC, 2019
Offer help to quit tobacco use
The WHO Report on the global tobacco epidemic analyses national efforts to implement the most effective measures from the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) that are proven to reduce demand for tobacco.
The report notes that there are now eight low-income countries that have one best-practice measure in place. Five countries have two, while three countries (including two African countries - Chad and Senegal) have three. Madagascar appears to be the African country with the best results, with up to four measures in place at best-practice level.
