About the training

The Eastern and Southern Africa media training brought together a total of 23 Communication Officers of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and media practitioners to strengthen their collaboration, tobacco control knowledge and ability to document their milestones through effective storytelling. It took place at the Southern Sun Hotel, Katherine Street, Sandton in Johannesburg, South Africa.

As a prelude to the 5th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labor held from 15 to 20 May in Durban, South Africa, participants of the training expressed support for the campaign to eliminate child labor by taking pictures with the campaign logo on their palms. These images were disseminated through social networks to show the commitment of the ATCA community.
