The imperceptible but remarkably disastrous impact of tobacco to the environment

 Friday 27, 2022 | 13: 00 GMT

This webinar is organized under the banner of the Clean Up campaign, an initiative of CSO regional and global partners involved in tobacco control, as part of activities to commemorate World No Tobacco Day 2022 in Africa. These partners include the African Tobacco Control Alliance (ATCA), the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), the Africa Centre for Tobacco Industry Monitoring and Policy Research (ATIM), the Center for Tobacco Control in Africa (CTCA), the Framework Convention Alliance (FCA), the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK), and the Global Center for Good Governance in Tobacco Control (GGTC).

The webinar will highlight the intricate relation between tobacco and the environment and how the tobacco industry drives air, land, and water pollution from the growing of the tobacco plant to its transformation and eventual consumption (including novel tobacco products). It will also expose the tobacco industry’s frantic efforts to market itself as environment friendly.
