Tobacco control advocates are fed up

They are fed up with Big Tobacco openly targeting youth with harmful and addictive products. They are frustrated by the industry’s interference in lifesaving policies. And they are tired of facing intimidation for their work in tobacco control.

So, they decide to share  their experiences directly in STOP’s new series, “Lives at Stake: True Stories of People Challenging Big Tobacco.”

In the first video, Akinbode Oluwafemi, the executive director of Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa, has been leading tobacco control efforts for over 20 years. He has been repeatedly targeted with intimidation, including violent attacks that he believes are connected to his work.
